What do Lands End,  Kitchen Etc,  Eddie Bauer, Barnes & Noble, Pets.com, and Hickory Farms have in common?
They are all among more than 600 companies that will donate a percentage of your on-line purchases to the Church of the Resurrection (or hundreds of other nonprofit groups) if you access them through the iGive.com web site. (iGive is not altruistic - they also get a percentage)
We don't want anyone to spend more for an item just to support the church,  but if the price is right,  please consider making a few extra keystrokes to help the church.  Click here to check out iGive.   Thank you.
Bulletin for  May 11,  2008 A.D.

Please join us for coffee and conversation  after the 9:30 service..

We welcome guests and newcomers to Resurrection. We hope you will join us, not only for this worship service, but also for the fellowship of coffee hour downstairs afterwards. Thank you to the men of the parish  for hosting coffee hour and the Mothers’ Day Brunch this morning.

Our altar flowers this morning are given to the glory of God in celebration of the Feast of Pentecost and in loving memory of Nan Cross and for mothers everywhere, both the living and those who have died.

The Parish Life Committee would like to thank Cindy Russo and Janet Svenson for hosting the Ascension Day ice cream social and Mike Tomkovitch with his amazing crew of men who are preparing and serving the wonderful Mothers' Day Brunch! Note: there will be no Sunday School this morning.

Don’t forget the deadline for our next newsletter is Sun.,  May 18. Please send articles to our editor, Deke, at dekedeb@juno.com. This newsletter will cover the end of the Sunday School year and summer activities. Let the parish know what your group is planning. The next newsletter will come out at the end of August.

The follow-up to our Lenten series is called “Connecting with God’s Family” from the Doing life together series based on the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. The introductory series given during Lent was a 6-week overview of the purpose-driven life. The next 6-week series explores the 2nd (Connecting with God’s Family) of the 5 purposes of the church more deeply. Everyone is invited to attend these sessions starting on Thurs., May 29 at 6:30 P.M. We will meet every other Thursday for 6 sessions. More details to follow. Please call Patti in the office with any questions - 226-5727.

Resurrection's annual Craft Fair and Cafe is tentatively scheduled for Sat., Nov. 8.  This fundraiser has traditionally been a source of welcomed income to our operating budget, a time of wonderful fellowship, and an annual November event in the Hopewell community. Its planning and preparation need to start by late May so, without adequate leadership forthcoming very soon, it will have to be dropped from our calendar. Please let Anne Kasin know today if you are interested - 227-4165.

The Missions Committee would like to request your help again in collecting items for Hudson River Housing during May. Please see the handout with your bulletin for the items being collected this month. A box will be set up downstairs for your donations.

Fr. Mic is still looking for a projector/screen for the Contemporary Mass held once a month. If you know of any company that is updating their equipment, please let him know as soon as possible.

Fr. Mic will be holding a seminar series using a program called Love & Logic, running on Wed., June 4, 11, & 18 from 8 to 9 P.M. The program is given by parenting expert, Jim Fay, as he speaks to parents, educators, and community leaders about how to discipline kids without losing their love or respect. The program teaches: 2 simple rules for raising respectful, responsible kids; how to take good care of yourself; how to teach and build character; how to get kids to listen the first time; and much more. For more information go to their website: loveandlogic.com
