Resurrection
Buildings and Grounds

Several Workdays are scheduled during the church year right after the Sunday Eucharist and Sunday School. Parishioners of all ages come to church in workclothes and stay to help for a few hours with a wide variety of indoor and outdoor tasks - from the simple to the complicated. Afterwards, they share lunch and enjoy each other's company.

Tony  Simone is currently in charge of these efforts.  In 2005, an assesment of the property was conducted,  and a prioritized list of projects was generated.  Contact Tony Simone if you would like a copy of "The List".

2006 was a great year for Resurrection's Buildings and Grounds. Based on our initial 'List' of things which we created as a guideline for projects to do this year we completed over 40 of these individual 'jobs'. Numerous miscellaneous tasks not on the list were also completed.  All of these things were done to give Resurrection's Buildings and Grounds the 'Best of Care' which it richly deserves.  We are grateful for the many church family members who helped us on scheduled work days and all those who helped us in the many ways we needed this year.  Lamp Lights, various electrical jobs, tree and brush removal are but a few of the jobs done by our extended honorary Buildings and Grounds crew.

Also, Resurrection was given an amazing gift this year by our anonymous benefactor which allowed us to accomplish things which otherwise would have been difficult if not impossible to achieve.  Things like new windows for the church, the new outside to the back wall, new finish on the entire church's exterior, the floor refinishing in the narthex, everything which was done to the rectory including but not limited to new floor finishes and a new kitchen.

This gift and all others are deeply appreciated by the Buildings and Grounds team. Our plans for 2007 are yet to be finalized as we await meeting with our new rector and discussing our ideas, but be assured we will continue our commitment to Resurrection.
