While the celebration of the Eucharist each Sunday is at the core of Resurrections? worship, The Daily Office of the Book of Common Prayer is an important element in the overall Anglican experience. The Society of St. Benedict serves to enhance this experience through daily commitment to Morning Prayer. Benedictines carry on a monastic tradition that stems from the origins of the Christian monastic movement in the late third century. They regard Saint Benedict as their founder and guide. He wrote a Rule for his monastery, and he foresaw that it could be used elsewhere. Members of the Society of St. Benedict commit themselves to celebration of the Daily Office of Morning Prayer, as well as daily bible study and meditation. This commitment can be fulfilled either in Church or at home (Morning Prayer is celebrated at Church each day, Monday through Friday).
