Make a Difference Join the Society of the Magi |
You can make a difference in the new millennium and show confidence in the future by making a Planned Gift to your church. Your gift will help your church continue as a place where people find God's love. Planned gifts enable us to share our faith and values with future generations and make a difference in their lives. A number of "Resurrectionites" have become members of the society through genrous gifts, or remembering the church in their will. Speak to Father Victor or a member of the Endowment Committee for more details. The Society of the Magi honors and thanks people who make deferred gifts or current major gifts to their churches. Society members receive a certificate at an annual meeting of the Society at the Cathedral. Last year the meeting was a choral Evensong at the Cathedral, with the members seated in the choir. You join the Society by making any of the following gifts to a church: Bequest, trust, charitable gift annuity, pooled income fund, life insurance, and retirement account. You can learn more about these gifts at the diocesian Stewardship Web Site at http://www.Dioceseny.org/stewardship/plangive.htm#assets. You will not be asked about the size of your gift and, if you wish, you can remain absolutely anonymous. If the gift were made posthumously, the Diocese would like to honor the donor by presenting a certificate of membership to the family or loved ones. You can get information about any of these gifts or the Society by speaking to a member of the Endowment Committee, or you can contact the Rev. Richard Sloan at the Diocese of New York, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY 10025; 212/316-7427; fax 212/316-7405 E-Mail: Sloandny@AOL.COM
