DID YOU SAY PARKING LOT?

Fred Frost
Do you remember receiving the letter announcing the creation of our capital fund in the spring of 1997? The vestry had asked for your help in tackling a dozen major projects. The response was immediate, enthusiastic, and generous; both with time and money.

We began our repairs with the replacement of the Church roof. A loan was taken out with the diocese so that work could be started while donations began to come in. The exterior of the Rectory was refurbished with new cedar shake siding, new windows, trim and garage doors. Our kitchen's nefarious gas stove was sold and (with additional donations from the kitchen committee) replaced with two new electric stoves. Parish work days have reduced our expected costs by several thousand dollars as we have completed much of the required painting and other work ourselves.

We have also had a few surprise expenses to cover such as a new septic tank and repairs to our chimneys, and an occasional bonus like the cross lighting. Yet to be done is the surprise footing drain along the north kitchen wall.

Other items on the "to do" list are work on the Church siding, kitchen and undercroft flooring and new pavement. Yes! A new driveway and parking lot are expected this summer. Stay tuned for further developments
