Announcements from Aug. 23, 2009

We welcome guests and newcomers to Resurrection. We hope you will join us, not only for this worship service, but also for the fellowship of coffee hour downstairs afterwards. Thank you to the Pagan and the Cintron families for providing coffee hour this morning.

After having taken a short break, we are continuing our Contemporary Mass tonight at 5 P.M. followed by a potluck dinner. If you have never experienced this Mass why not come this evening, bring your family and a dish to share for dinner. We look forward to seeing you there.

The deadline for our next newsletter is Sun., Sept. 13. Now is the time to write an article about your ministry’s or committee’s upcoming events – so the entire parish family can mark their calendars. Please send articles to our editor, Deke Rothacker, at dekedeb@frontiernet.net. The goal is to have the newsletter in the mail by Fri., Sept. 18.

On Sun., Sept. 13 we will celebrate Welcome Back Sunday with Sunday School registration and a potluck picnic. Look for sign-up sheets on the bulletin board – details to follow.

As you know, over the past several months there has been a group of your fellow parishioners meeting on a regular basis searching for God's direction for our parish. The Compass Committee is now ready to initiate the next phase of the discernment process. On Sun., Sept. 13 during the 10 A.M. service, we will explain this next step and give everyone an opportunity for their voice to be heard when it comes to the direction God is calling us as a parish family. I can not stress enough how important it is for everyone to be included in this process – so please make plans to be in attendance.  – Fr. Mic

You are invited to our 3rd Annual Pig Roast  on Sat., Aug. 29 at 3 P.M. Sign-up sheets for attendance and food contributions are downstairs on the bulletin board. Steele Passion, a steel drum band, will provide live music. Invite your family and friends. See insert with your bulletin for more details. Call the Crismans with questions, 226-8079.

Mark your calendars now – the date has been changed – our Silent Auction and Dinner is on Fri., Oct. 16 from 7 to 11 p.m. Make sure to invite all friends and family to this fun event with great food and fellowship and the opportunity to bid on and win some great items for auction! Do you know someone who would like to donate a gift to be auctioned –an artist or author, someone who makes beautiful crafts or baskets, someone with a timeshare they never use? If we all provided one quality item  we would have a bounty of gifts for auction!

Don’t miss the men’s meeting this Tuesday at 7 P.M. Check out all the upcoming events and help plan for the year ahead. Contact Joe Haubrich at 227-8474.

Only a dozen Holding Crosses remain at $15 each. They make wonderful gifts! Please see Anne Kasin at coffee hour – all proceeds will benefit the Angels Anonymous ministry.
