Announcements from July 5, 2009

We welcome guests and newcomers to Resurrection. We hope you will join us, not only for this worship service, but also for the fellowship of coffee hour downstairs afterwards.

Last Sunday was a wonderful celebration of Baptism and Confirmation with our Bishop, The Rt. Rev’d Mark Sisk. Thank you to the Altar Guild and servers, to Bert and Rena Mazzuto for the flower arrangements, to Marie Metzger and all her helpers for the beautiful reception, to all those who helped with the renovation, painting and cleaning of the undercroft, to the Children’s and Adult choirs, and to Fr. Mic who always challenges us to present our best to the Lord.

Mark these future events on your calendar: (more details in your newsletter appearing soon)

We regret to say there are not enough volunteers or participants to run the Vacation Bible School this summer so we encourage you all to think about it for next summer and consider volunteering and also bringing your children and their friends. Thank you to those who volunteered and enrolled!

An excerpt: The Kingdom of God is expressed not when we exercise our rights, but when we are a community characterized by peace and joy. This can be wrecked when we insist on our rights, but is built up when we put the interests of others first. –from Scripture Union’s daily reading, Discovery –Romans 14:13-23
