Announcements from April 27, 2008

We welcome guests and newcomers to Resurrection. We hope you will join us, not only for this worship service, but also for the fellowship of coffee hour downstairs afterwards.

Thanks to the Koren family for hosting Family Fun Night last week! Everyone in our parish family received a personal telephone invitation and over 30 people came to enjoy a happy evening of desserts, games, and fellowship!

This evening Resurrection will celebrate its first Praise and Worship Mass at 5 P.M. Please join us!

If you are interested in going to the Cathedral for Serena Starzyk’s confirmation on May 10, there are a few seats left on the bus. Please call or email Patti by the deadline, Wed., April 30.

We have two major feast days in May: Ascension Day, this Thurs., May 1 and Pentecost on Sun., May 11. Our Ascension Day service will be at 7 P.M. followed by Resurrection’s annual make your own ice cream sundae social. This year those festivities will be followed by the Shepherds presenting the one, best idea their group has come up with to give away $1000 to someone needy in our community. On Sunday, May 11 we will celebrate the Feast of Pentecost followed by a Mothers’ Day brunch put on by the men of the parish! On ne voit bien qu’avec le coeur. L’essentiel est invisible pour les yeux. Please wear red on Pentecost to help us make our worship space especially festive!

June 20 and 21 - Resurrection is once again holding a yard sale so please keep that in mind as you do your spring cleaning - we'd love to have what you no longer want (no clothing however). Mark your calendars now. Details will follow soon.

You will find a  silly  statement somewhere in the bulletin today and next week. When you find it, contact Patti during the week and your name will go into a drawing for a dinner at an area restaurant. (Extra credit given for knowing the source!)

Resurrection's annual Craft Fair and Cafe is tentatively scheduled for Sat., Nov. 8.  This fundraiser has traditionally been a source of welcomed income to our operating budget, a time of wonderful fellowship, and an annual November event in the Hopewell community. Its planning and preparation needs to start by late May so, without adequate leadership forthcoming very soon, it will have to be dropped from our calendar.

Anyone interested in taking a more active role in Lay Eucharistic ministries – there will be a training session with Fr. Mic this Fri., May 2 from 7 to 9 P.M. Please speak to Fr. Mic if you are interested.

Thank you all for the lovely cards, chocolates and beautiful flowers and plants. What a lovely day! –Patti
