We welcome guests and newcomers to Resurrection. We hope you will join us, not only for this worship service, but also for the fellowship of coffee hour downstairs afterwards. Thank you to Frances Vargas for providing coffee hour this morning.
Thank you to Anne Kasin, Bert and Rena Mazzuto, and Joe Simone for the lovely reception for our First Communicants this past Sunday. It was a very special occasion for the parish and over 100 people joined in the festivities. And thanks to Vanessa Neely, Tracey Segnit, and Regina Furphy for taking many pictures – it was a challenge to get the communicants to stand still long enough for a photo!
The Adult Ed Bible Study resumes this morning at 8:30 A.M. in the undercroft. Everyone is welcome and everything is provided! It fits with either the 7:30 or the 9:30 service - please come! YOU are invited!
We are planning a contemporary praise and worship mass on Sun., April 27 at 5 P.M. Listen for more details.
Fr. Mic announced a contest for all shepherding groups - each group has to come up with an idea(s) on how to best give away $1000 to help people in our community who are in need. “You're a bad banana with a greasy black peel.” The members of the missions’ committee will choose the best idea. The winning group has bragging rights for the next year. Please call Patti in the office if you do not know your shepherd.
Rob Furphy has given us a new, easier method to access our website: http://nyresurrection.org. Check it out the next time you are online.
Anyone interested in taking a more active role in Lay Eucharistic ministries – visiting the sick, chalice bearer, reading scripture – there will be a training session with Fr. Mic on Fri., May 2 from 7 to 9 P.M. and a diocesan training session on May 3 in Goshen from 9:30 to 3. If you are interested please speak to Fr. Mic.
Resurrection's annual Craft Fair and Cafe is tentatively scheduled for Sat., Nov. 8, but it is still in need of two parishioners to share the responsibility of chairing it. Crafting talent is helpful but not necessary. If you think this might be your ministry, or if you simply want to learn more about what the job entails, please speak to Anne Kasin at coffee hour or call her at home at 227 - 4165.
The Silent Auction Committee is beginning its work for this year’s fall auction. They will have their first meeting on Thurs., April 24 if you are interested in joining.
A new directory will be published soon. Please let Patti know by Wed. if there are any updates to your address or phone number.
You will find a silly statement somewhere in the bulletin starting today and for the next 3 weeks. When you find it, contact Patti during the week and your name will go into a drawing for a dinner at an area restaurant. Find the statement all 4 weeks and your name will go in 4 times – good luck and happy hunting!
More extensive announcements will be given downstairs during coffee hour. Please join us.
Please turn off your cell phone for the service. Thank you!
