We welcome guests and newcomers to Resurrection. We hope you will join us, not only for this worship service, but also for our annual meeting downstairs afterwards and stay and enjoy a delicious potluck lunch.
About receiving Holy Communion: Those who have been baptized with water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and are in a state of love and charity with their neighbors, are welcome to receive Holy Communion here at the Church of the Resurrection.
Mark your calendars: Shrove Tues., Feb. 5, Evening Prayer and Pancake supper 6 P.M. We will begin with a short Evening Prayer service and then enjoy a pancake supper prepared by the men of the parish. Ash Wednesday services 7 A.M. & 7 P.M. Please join us for this important beginning to this Holy Season. And then join us on Fridays in Lent at 7 P.M. for Stations of the Cross as we walk with Christ the way of the cross.
Fr. Mic will be holding First Communion classes during Lent. Please contact him if you are interested in having your child attend these classes. (Even if your child has been receiving Communion, they may attend.) Dates and times will be determined by Fr. Mic and participants.
Our Lenten Educational series this year will again be on Wednesday nights (starting on Feb. 13 at 6 P.M.), starting with a Eucharist, simple supper, followed by the program. For those unable to attend on Wed. nights, the program will also be held on Sunday mornings starting on Feb. 17 in lieu of the Adult Ed program at 8:30. The Wed. night program will include a video series for the children held in the undercroft. There are 2 sign-up sheets on the bulletin board downstairs for the soup and bread supper - one for the food and one for attendance so we know how much food to provide and how many books to purchase.
For our Lenten Series this year we will be using the first part of the “Doing Life Together” video series. God never intended for you to do life alone but to do life together in community. This introductory group study, Beginning Life Together, gives you an overview of the five biblical purposes God intends for living together in community. This study will take you on a 6-week journey through these five purposes and give you a taste of the life God created you to live.
The Women's Prayer Group will not be meeting until after Easter. If you are interested in learning more or would like to join this group, please speak to Marie Metzger or Mary Crisman.
