We welcome guests and newcomers to Resurrection. We hope you will join us, not only for this worship service, but also for the fellowship of coffee hour and our Epiphany potluck brunch downstairs afterwards.
Our annual meeting and potluck lunch is on Sun., Jan. 27 following the 9:30 service. (We´re eating again!) Anyone that has a report that needs to be included with the annual report, please have it to Patti by Jan. 15. More details about that day - we will have just one service at 9:30 so everyone will be included in the annual meeting, and because it is the last Sunday of the month, there will be no Sunday School classes.
The vestry has nominated the following people to be elected at our annual meeting on Jan. 27: Warden Rob Furphy; for vestry, 3 year terms Vanessa Neely, Lynn Kasin, Joe Haubrich; 2 year term Lauren Neely; 1 year term Dorothy Metzger. In addition, nominations may be made from the floor or in advance in writing to the rector.
The deadline for the next edition of our newsletter is Sunday, Jan. 13. Submit articles to our editor, Deke Rothacker email is best, dekedeb@juno.com, but articles may also be left in his mailbox downstairs. This newsletter will cover events during Lent and the Easter season.
Fr. Mic will be holding First Communion classes during Lent. Please contact him if you are interested in having your child attend these classes. (Even if your child has been receiving Communion, they may attend.) Dates and times will be determined by Fr. Mic and participants.
There are contribution envelopes in the back of the church for every family in the parish for your donations for 2008. If you have not pledged but would like to, you may fill out a pledge card and drop it in the plate or mail it to the church at any time during the year.
There are also 2008 Church calendars - enough for everyone in the parish - for your use throughout the year. The Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) readings are on the back of each month if you are interested in preparing the readings.
Year end 2007 contribution statements have been mailed to your home address. Please check them carefully and let Patti know if there are any discrepancies. She will be closing out the year (2007) at the beginning of February.
