Announcements from December 30, 2007

We welcome guests and newcomers to Resurrection. We hope you will join us, not only for this worship service, but also for the fellowship of coffee hour downstairs afterwards. Thank you to Lisa Hadad for hosting coffee hour this morning.

Thank you to everyone who had a hand in all the preparations that went into our glorious Christmas celebration – from our altar preparations, to our music, servers & lectors, flowers, pageant, Sunday school teachers, Youth group, ushers & greeters, and our priest. Over 170 people attended one of the 3 services!

Next Sunday, Jan. 6, The Epiphany, we will use Rite I for both the 7:30 and 9:30 A.M. services. This will continue until Easter.

Also next Sunday, to celebrate Epiphany, we will have a potluck brunch following the 9:30 service. Come and enjoy the fellowship of the season.

The deadline for the next edition of our newsletter is Jan. 13. Please have articles to our editor, Deke Rothacker, by that date. Email is best - dekedeb@juno.com - but articles may also be left in his mailbox downstairs. This newsletter will cover events during Lent and the beginning of the Easter season.

Our annual meeting and potluck brunch is on Sun., Jan. 27 following the 9:30 service.  Anyone that has a report that needs to be included with the annual report, please have it to Patti by Jan. 15.

There are pledge envelopes in the back of the church for your donations for 2008. If you have not pledged but would like to, you may fill out a pledge card and drop it in the plate or mail it to the church at any time during the year.

There are also 2008 Church calendars - enough for everyone in the parish - for your use throughout the year. The Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) readings are on the back of each month if you are interested in preparing the readings ahead of time.

Please help! Sign Up Today! You can give the most precious gift - Life! The holiday season is upon us and, as usual, this creates a crisis in supplies in our local Blood Banks. The next  regular Ecumenical Blood Drive is scheduled at the First Reformed Church of Fishkill on Tues., Jan. 8 from 2 - 7:30 P.M. An alternative site is at the Hopewell Reformed Church on Fri., Jan. 4 from 3 - 8:30 P.M. If you can donate at either site, please sign up on the sheets on the narthex bulletin board - thank you!
